Ashton Marten was born in 2004, in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved around a lot growing up, but the place he spent the most time in was Virginia Beach, Virginia. He lived there for eight years, and it was there where he met many of the most important people in his life. Him and his family moved to Lemoore, California in 2021, which separated him from everyone that he knew and caused him to fall into a depression. It was during this depression that Ashton started writing the Scarlet Shadow, and it was through this book that he managed to recover.

Ashton Marten has been writing since 2017, and is an avid reader of sci-fi and graphic novels. He spends his free time listening to vinyl records, playing old video games, and returning abandoned shopping carts in store parking lots. Ashton lives and works in Lemoore, California. The Scarlet Shadow is his first published novel.
